Recent Job: Pipe Relining at a Coogee Apartment Building
A blocked sewer beneath the driveway at this Coogee apartment building was cleared before Tom from Friendly Plumbing carried out a CCTV inspection. He found several damaged sections further down the pipe where the joints had moved out of place.
These uneven areas could catch toilet paper and other debris, making another blockage more likely. Tom and the team used pipe relining to create a new smooth surface inside the damaged section without digging up the driveway.
If the pipe had become more damaged, repeat blockages could have continued and digging up the driveway may have become the only way to replace the sewer.
Recent Job: Blocked Drain Cleared in Clovelly
A blocked drain at a Clovelly property was affecting the flow through the line.
The drain was beside the property in a narrow side passage, so we kept the larger drain-clearing equipment outside and took the hose through to the drain.
Our plumber opened the line and worked through the blockage until it was cleared.
With the blockage removed, water could move through the drain again.
If we had left the blockage in place, water could have backed up and overflowed around the property.

Recent Job: CCTV Inspection Leads to Pipe Relining in Maroubra
The camera gave our plumber, Tom, a clear look inside the pipe and helped us find the section that needed repair.
We then carried out a pipe relining repair from inside the existing drain. This allowed us to repair the affected section without digging up a large area around the property.
If the damaged joints had been left in place, the pipe could have become badly blocked or collapsed, causing water to back up around the property.

Recent Job: Hot Water Restored at a Sydney Beachside Apartment
A beachside home in Sydney was left without hot water when its Rinnai Infinity system stopped working after more than 20 years of service.
We removed the old unit and installed a new Rinnai Infinity continuous-flow gas hot water system. We also installed new copper pipework, fittings and valves before checking the system.
The new unit was working as it should, and hot water was restored to the home.
Without a replacement, the household would have remained without hot water, while the ageing unit and worn connections could have continued to break down.

Blocked Toilet Cleared at an Eastern Suburbs Apartment
A blocked toilet at an Eastern Suburbs home needed more than a quick look.
We used a CCTV drain camera to inspect the sewer pipe from an outdoor access point. The camera showed a blockage inside the line.
After we cleared the blockage, we checked the pipe again. The final camera view showed that the sewer line was open and clear.
By fixing the problem early, the homeowner avoided the risk of wastewater backing up through the toilet or nearby drains. This could have caused an overflow, bad smells, hygiene concerns and damage inside the home.

Recent Job: Gutter and Downpipe Replaced at this Vaucluse Home
A section of guttering high along the side of this Vaucluse harbourside home needed to be replaced. The narrow space below made the gutter and downpipe work more difficult than a standard ground-level job.
We used long extension ladders to reach the gutter line. We replaced the guttering and installed a painted 90 mm downpipe along the outside wall.
The new pipe was secured with brackets and connected to the rainwater tank. The completed gutter and downpipe now give roof water a clear path to the tank.
By replacing the gutter and installing the new downpipe, the homeowner avoided the risk of heavy rain spilling down the outside wall or collecting beside the home. This could have caused dampness, damaged the exterior and allowed water to enter the home.

Recent Job: Roof and Gutter Clearing After Flooding at a Darlinghurst Home
A major roof leak had caused serious flood damage inside this Darlinghurst home. The ceiling was cracked and badly damaged by water. The damage was so serious that the family had to move out.
We found leaves and dirt built up across the roof and gutter area, stopping rainwater from draining away and putting the home at risk every time it rained.
The roof and gutter clearing work involved removing the build-up, flushing the area and checking that water could flow away properly again.
This helped protect the home from more water damage. If the build-up had remained, the next heavy downpour could have sent more water through the weakened ceiling, causing part of it to give way and fall into the room below.

Recent Job: Damaged Water Pipe Re-Routed at an Inner-City Sydney Home
A damaged section of copper water pipe was running beneath the concrete at an inner-city Sydney home. Because the faulty section was difficult to reach, a new cold-water line needed to be installed around it.
We removed part of the concrete, exposed the old pipe and isolated the water supply. We then removed the old pipework and installed a new copper line and garden tap.
The new pipe was secured beneath the home, connected to the existing water service and tested. No leaks were found. We protected the pipework, reinstated the concrete and cleaned the area.
If the damaged pipe had failed beneath the slab, it could have caused a hidden water leak that went unnoticed. This could have wasted water, caused ongoing dampness and required a much larger section of concrete to be removed.
