Recent Job: Pipe Relining After a Free CCTV Inspection at a Maroubra Property

Service: Pipe Relining

Location: Maroubra, Eastern Suburbs Sydney

A free CCTV drain inspection at a Maroubra property found damaged joints further down the drain.

Tom from Friendly Plumbing used the camera to look inside the pipe and locate the affected section.

Once we knew where the problem was, our team prepared the relining equipment and repaired the damaged section from inside the existing drain.

The pipe was relined without the need to dig up a large area around the property.

If the damaged joints had been left in place, the pipe could have become badly blocked or collapsed, causing water to back up around the property.

A Free CCTV Inspection Looked Inside the Drain

The client booked a free CCTV drain inspection at the Maroubra property.

A CCTV drain camera lets our plumbers look inside the pipe and see problems that cannot be seen from above ground.

During this inspection, Tom found damaged joints further down the drain.

The camera gave us a clear view of the affected section and showed us where the repair was needed.

If the joints had been left in place, the pipe could have become badly blocked or collapsed.

Tom explains what the CCTV inspection found on site in Maroubra and why pipe relining was the next step.

Repairing the Drain with Pipe Relining

Once the damaged section had been found, our team moved ahead with pipe relining.

Pipe relining repairs a damaged section from inside the existing drain. This can reduce the need to dig up large areas around the property.

We prepared the relining material and packer before placing the repair inside the pipe.

The relining work was then carried out on the section found during the CCTV inspection.

The Damaged Section Was Relined

The completed work included:

  • Carrying out a free CCTV drain inspection
  • Looking inside the drain with a camera
  • Finding damaged joints further down the pipe
  • Locating the section that needed repair
  • Preparing the pipe relining equipment
  • Relining the damaged section

The damaged section was repaired from inside the existing pipe, without the need to dig up a large area around the property.

If the damaged joints had been left in place, the pipe could have become badly blocked or collapsed, causing water to back up around the property.

Could a CCTV Drain Inspection Help Find a Hidden Problem?

Some drain problems cannot be seen from above ground.

A CCTV drain inspection lets our plumbers look inside the pipe and can help find issues such as:

  • Damaged or moved pipe joints
  • Cracked or damaged pipes
  • Tree roots inside a drain
  • Blockages further down the pipe
  • Other hidden drain problems

It can also help us work out whether the drain needs to be cleared, repaired or relined.
